A Muse With Gossamer Wings

This piece will probably be all I'll have to share for a little while. The inspiration for this gossamer-winged dragonfly fairy is the Use the Muse IV contest, a beading/jewelry contest in which participants buy bead kits that include a "muse," and participants have to keep the muse piece secret until the "big reveal." It's fun to see what everyone comes up with. For my piece I plan to transfer this artwork to polymer clay and create a shield-shaped pendant. In the meantime I'm going to list this as a limited edition ACEO in my Kell's Creations shop on Etsy. I created this painting in watercolor, and one of the paints contains ground amethyst, which really adds a beautiful sparkle that you just can't see on the screen. I did have an extra strand of hair in the finished painting, but I didn't like it, so I edited it out in Photoshop. Love the clone and healing brush tools!
